How to play LinkedIn Pinpoint

Pinpoint is a word-association game. You are shown up to five clue words one at a time, and you have to name the category that connects all of them.

Every wrong guess reveals another clue, so the fewer clues you need, the better your score. The category is often a phrase such as "words that come before share" or "things found in a kitchen", so think about how each clue can be completed, not only what it means on its own.

When you are stuck, compare the two most unusual clues. The link that fits both of them is usually the answer.

LinkedIn Pinpoint FAQ

When does the new LinkedIn Pinpoint puzzle come out?

A new Pinpoint puzzle is released every day at midnight Pacific Time (PT), and its number goes up by one each day. This page switches to the new puzzle shortly after it goes live.

Where does the Pinpoint answer come from?

The Pinpoint answer is recorded from the day's official puzzle after it is released. The board and every word on this page are retyped by us, not copied as images.

How many clues does LinkedIn Pinpoint give?

Pinpoint shows up to five clue words, one at a time. Each wrong guess reveals the next clue, so solving it with fewer clues gives a better score.

Why do the Pinpoint clues seem unrelated?

The category is often a phrase rather than a meaning, such as words that can follow the same word. Try completing each clue with a word before or after it and look for the one that fits them all.

Where can I find older Pinpoint answers?

Every past Pinpoint puzzle keeps a permanent page under its number. The Pinpoint archive lists all of them, newest first and grouped by month.
